What an amazing three days it has been at the WOC in Athens!
The event was nothing short of extraordinary, with an outstanding lineup of exhibitors, educational sessions, and networking opportunities. The rich history, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality of Athens provided a wonderful backdrop for the World of Coffee event.
We would like to extend a huge thank you and share some impressions with you.
It was an unforgettable experience, and we are grateful to everyone who made it possible. Thank you, Athens, for your hospitality and passion for specialty coffee.
We look forward to meeting you at Host Milano 2023!
Where you met us in Athens:
Workshop:
Product Manager Ansgar Bitz and Education & Activation Manager Luca Lange hosted an official SCA workshop to teach about coffee grinding. From how Hemro is producing grinder burrs, to servicing insights and how to choose the right grinder for one's needs, the two covered everything needed to know how to create quality coffee moments all over the world.
Thank you all for joining us in the workshop and asking amazing questions to bring more life to the session.
Roaster Village:
This year Mahlkönig sponsored the Roaster Village East together with our friends from La Marzocco. The Roaster Village was host to many great and famous roasters throughout Europe. We truly enjoyed every coffee tried, and believe us when we say we tried all of the roasters coffees.
Standart x Mahlkönig Event:
To kick-off a fantastic week fueled with coffee, we hosted an event together with our dear friends from Standart Magazine. The night was filled with art, music and natural wine. Italo-American photographer Olimpia Piccolo exhibited her latest piece cover story for Standart. The DJ Duo SL28 entertained with Italo-Disco and a local wine producer highlighted six different natural wines to keep everyone hydrated.
Thank you all for coming to this joy-filled evening, and thank you Standart for creating this memorable evening with us.
World Espresso Championship:
Together with Dalla Corte we hosted the World Espresso Championship. A contest focused on Espresso where all national Barista Champions competed once again after World of Coffee with a view of the Acropolis to win a staggering € 4.000. The Judges deliberated and it was a close call between New Zealand and Australia, with Jack Simpson taking the cash prize down under.
Thank you all for coming and celebrating WoC coming to an end on the rooftop of 360° Cocktail Bar.
