During the past two decades, the WCE (World Coffee Events) have become great platforms for the international coffee industry. Every time we meet to enjoy coffee together, when we share our experiences and ideas – that is when fresh sparks of inspiration get to fuel our mutual passion for coffee. This passion lays the foundation for exciting new trends and products, the continuous development of quality standards and, last but not least, the foundation of our great community.
Last year, the international coffee competitions could not take place as planned. Safety measures and travel restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic resulted in the cancellation of all planned major events.
While we all still do our very best to master the current challenges, we are also looking forward to what lies ahead: the
WCE has started planning the World Barista Championships and other competitions for 2021. More information on the specific dates and venues will be published in due course. Details about the use of sponsor grinders can be found on the WCE’s website:
"Updates on Qualified Grinders" Mahlkönig has extended the sponsorship of the
World Barista Championships and the
World Coffee in Good Spirits for the original season of 2018 - 2020 and will be actively supporting the participants during the upcoming championships. In addition to the popular
EK43 and EK43 S, Mahlkönig will also provide its new E80S espresso grinder as an official competition grinder for the first time. As the fastest espresso grinder in its performance class, the
E80S impresses with precise grinding under maximum loads – without compromising consistency and taste.
At the upcoming
World Brewers Cup, Ditting will equip the participants with the new
807 Lab Sweet, the successor of the 804 Lab Sweet. The new laboratory grinder features an optimal handling concept as well as high precision grinding to preserve the precious aroma for every single infusion.
Espresso grinding at this year's
World Latte Art Championships will be covered by the new
Anfim SP II+. Besides an active cooling system that masters high workloads, the new version of the popular high-performance espresso grinder is the first one that operates with a proximity sensor instead of a mechanical start-stop system and that is equipped with additional safety switches, too.
The team of the Hemro Group is looking forward to the upcoming competitions and moreover to finally reunite with customers, partners and friends during the upcoming world championships!
